In terms of activity, this month has been quite quiet which
has been quite nice, the rain kind of limits a lot of activities here!! I have settled into my new house, I have gotten food poisoning from mushrooms, I have been fed nearly everyday by friends, I heard the rat that lived in my house get caught by a cat, I have waded ankle deep in flooding rain water, I have cried from too much chilli, I have killed three cockroaches and much more!!! So you could say that I have pretty much settle in here to a certain extent!!
This being Sri Lanka, the Children’s Day thing mentioned in a previous post didn't happen!! I am still learning to be very flexible when it comes to others organizing things!! But I did speak at the ladies meeting last Saturday
on the importance of being in God’s presence, being patient and expectant and
seeking till we find. I spoke about
Deborah, one of my favourite characters in the bible who dwelt in God’s
presence and from that place she was able to rule and judge and save Israel
with wisdom and authority. I was also able to introduce the concept of
prophetic art, and hearing from God for ourselves, to hear what He thinks of
them, to see things in the Spirit. They
all listened to God and drew their pictures, it was the beginning of a new
thing in each of their lives where they now know that they can hear God and not
only the leaders of the church and hopefully be able to have more interaction
with God and seek more of Him. I was
also asked to help in the organisation and ideas of what to do in the future
ladies meetings, which is a nice open door to introduce more things of God to
them and hopefully really be able to strengthen them in their faith and living
out their faith and knowing how valuble they are to God.
I had dreamt about this ladies meeting for quite a while,
even before I was asked to do it. Whilst
I was dreaming about it I was also praying for it and getting words, and
strategies on how to do it. I am reminded
that dreaming with God is like preparing things with Him, together making it
happen, together deciding how it’s going to go. God sows things into dreams,
awakes our imagination and our desires for what we want to see happen and He
shows us how it could work. What
happened in the ladies meeting was what I had dreamed that I wanted to see
happen. So...I encourage you to dream and to take a step into making it a reality, have courage, be bold, because they really can become reality!!

Last month I said to some people in the team formed in the
last few years that I was here, that I would be doing a Funday in November. In fact
I had even given a date. But not having
a huge amount of money I started thinking to myself, maybe I should do it
another month. So I sort of put it to the back of my mind. But at the ladies meeting one of them came up
to me and asked me about it, and reminded me the date I had given her!! I could
only say yes it’s still happening, even though I had even less than 50p by then, but inside I thought 'oh my goodness'!! But when I got home by the evening I saw that I had received
more than enough to be able do it. Thank God!! So the Funday is now really booked in for the
17th November!! So should be great!!! Saying ‘YES’ to God, allows amazing things to happen!!
I have found it quite difficult getting back into everything
here, and some of the harder times, but despite the storms, the wind that blows
me and tries to topple me over, discouragements, I still want to stay in the
boat with Jesus, because it’s actually the safest place to be wherever it may take me.
Thank you for your prayers and support and helping me step out and live my dreams :)
